FC Porto, one of the most successful football clubs in Portugal and Europe, has announced the signing of Emmanuel Omorodion from Italian Serie A club Napoli.

The 26-year-old Nigerian striker joins FC Porto on a three-year contract, with an option for another year. He will be hoping to add his skills to the already talented squad at the Estádio do Dragão.

Omorodion is known for his goal-scoring ability, having scored 41 goals in 85 appearances for Napoli since joining the club in 2019. His signing is seen as a significant boost for FC Porto, who have struggled to find their form this season.

"Emmanuel Omorodion is a highly-rated forward with a proven track record of scoring goals," said FC Porto's sporting director, Jorge Barros. "We're excited to welcome him to our team and believe he can help us achieve our goals."

Omorodion, meanwhile, is delighted to be joining FC Porto and looks forward to the opportunity to play under the guidance of the club's manager, Paulo Fonseca.

"We're very happy to join FC Porto and I'm looking forward to working with Paulo Fonseca and the rest of the coaching staff," he said. "I know they're a great team and I'm confident that we can achieve great things together."

With the likes of Edinson Cavani and Gabriel Jesus leading the line for FC Porto, Omorodion will be tasked with stepping up to the next level and helping the club compete for major honours.

It remains to be seen whether Omorodion will feature regularly for FC Porto this season, but his presence should certainly provide some much-needed attacking reinforcements for the Portuguese giants.
